UAE Golden Visa holders can sponsor eligible family members, including a spouse, children regardless of age, and parents. Family residence applications require proof of relationship, a valid sponsoring residence and the relevant supporting documents.

Children

Other family cases

Important distinction: The Golden Visa's special child-sponsorship benefit is broader than the age rules that apply to many standard residence visas. A sibling is not automatically included as a Golden Visa dependent merely because the sponsor holds Golden Residency.

How much does Golden Visa family sponsorship cost?
Golden Portal UAE's standard family sponsorship application package costs AED 9,000 per eligible dependent. This is our assisted-application package price, including the normal processing items in the agreed scope.
It covers application preparation, standard visa and government processing charges, Emirates ID, medical when required, standard document translation when required, and application coordination and follow-up.
Health insurance premiums, exceptional legalisation or certification requirements, and other special-case expenses are quoted separately. Domestic worker applications are outside this standard family package.

Validity and residence rights
How long are family visas valid?
Family residence permits are linked to the principal Golden Visa holder's active residence. The dependent's issued permit determines its exact validity and expiry date; it does not automatically give a fresh ten-year term if the sponsor has less time remaining.
Golden Visa holders benefit from greater flexibility to travel outside the UAE. Always check the dependent's own residence status before planning a lengthy stay abroad.
A family-sponsored adult can seek employment in the UAE with the required work permit; the family residence permit alone does not replace employment authorization.

What if the Golden Visa sponsor passes away?
Under Golden Residency rules, sponsored family members may stay in the UAE for the remaining validity of their issued residence permits.
