How long is the UAE Golden Visa valid?
Current ICP Golden Residency guidance describes a 10-year residence term for qualifying real-estate investors, public investors, entrepreneurs, skilled professionals, exceptional talents, outstanding students and other approved groups. Older Golden Visa programmes and some earlier government guidance describe five-year residence periods; if you already hold a Golden Visa, the expiry date on your active residence record determines your actual validity.
Golden Visa validity is not the same as an entry permit.
A six-month entry visa used to complete Golden Residency procedures is a separate document. It does not replace the validity term of an issued Golden Residence Permit.

Six-month travel rule
Can you stay outside the UAE for more than six months?
Yes. Golden Residence holders are exempt from the usual six-month absence rule that applies to many other residence visas. You can stay abroad longer than 180 days and return while your Golden Residence Permit is still valid. Staying overseas does not extend the original expiry date.
Your residence must remain valid
Check the active residence status and expiry date before travelling back. If the residence has expired or been cancelled for another reason, the travel exemption does not restore it.
Important distinction
