A Waqf donor can fall within this broader humanitarian-support route when the endowment or donation is properly recognised and the applicant satisfies the applicable recommendation and residence requirements.

Important: donating AED 2 million does not automatically issue a Golden Visa. The contribution must fit the humanitarian category, the competent authority must support the application, and the immigration authority still makes the final decision.

What Is a Waqf Donation?

Waqf is an endowment in which money, property or another asset is dedicated to an approved charitable, social or public-benefit purpose. Its proceeds may support education, healthcare, social welfare or other humanitarian causes.

For Golden Visa purposes, the key point is not the word “Waqf” itself. What matters is whether the contribution is officially recognised as qualifying humanitarian financial support and whether the applicant meets the Humanitarian Pioneers criteria.

Is AED 2 Million Enough by Itself?

GDRFA currently lists an expected service completion time of 48 hours once the required approvals and complete application are in place. This is a service target, not a guarantee for every case.
